Germany - Sachsen
Q2 2011
Take-up virtually unchanged
Take-up in Leipzig in the first half of 2011 totalled 46,000 m², which was only slightly lower than in the prior-year period (-2,000 m²) and more or less on a par with the ten-year average. In view of the fact that there have so far been no lettings of over 5,000 m² and that deals of over 1,000 m² accounted for only 23 % of all turnover, the result must be regarded as positive. Almost 60 % of all new leases were for premises up to a maximum of 200 m². Once again, the leading contributor to take-up was the business sector other services, with a share of nearly 26 %, followed by healthcare firms (18 %), information and communications technology companies (12 %) and the headquarters of industrial companies (10 %). All the other sectors registered shares of less than 8 %.
