City News Q1/2010 Dortmund

Turnover down on prior-year level

With a total of 12,000 m2 in Q1, take-up in the Dortmund office market was 20 % lower than in the same period in 2009. Only the city core zone turned in a good performance in the first quarter, with 8,000 m2, corresponding to around 67 % of the overall result. However, this was due primarily to a large letting of 7,700 m2 to Dresdner Bank, which needed temporary premises while its own offices are being renovated. As a result of this letting, banks and financial service-providers finished well ahead of the other business sectors, ith 66.5 % of total turnover. In second place came information and communications technologies, with 15 %.
