CIty Report Berlin 2011
Berlin office market sets new half-year record The strong demand for office premises in Berlin is continuing. After a very lively first quarter, take-up at the half-year point represented a new high, with a total of 276,000 m². This was around 36 % up on the already very good prior-year period and nearly 16 % higher than the previous half-year record, set in 2008. Demand is not confined to the prime districts but is spread over the entire municipal area. The sources of demand are also broadly distributed: five separate business sectors accounted for just over two-thirds of aggregate turnover, with shares of between 12 % and 17 % of the total.
