CIty Report Düsseldorf 2011
Take-up reaches 166,000 m²
With space turnover of 166,000 m², the Düsseldorf office market was unable to match its outstanding prioryear result. But since that had been substantially influenced by the Vodafone deal for premises of 90,000 m², this year’s performance must be regarded as positive. In fact, if that one-off factor is excluded, the city actually generated a take-up more than 38 % higher than in the same period in 2010. This is underlined by the fact the first-half figure exceeded the ten-year average by 12 %. Both the buoyant demand for office units in all size categories and the broad distribution of turnover between the different business sectors highlight the positive course of the market. Developers also take a favourable view of Düsseldorf’s future and have commenced some new projects.
