Marked increase in take-up
Take-up of office space in Munich in the first half of 2011 totalled 393,000 m². This not only exceeded the prior-year figure by all of 47 %, but also represented the second-best performance for any first half in the past ten years. Only in the first six months of 2008 was the result slightly higher (400,000 m²). This year’s total makes the Bavarian capital once again the No. 1 among the major German office centres by a considerable margin. One notable fact is the uniform distribution of turnover across all size classes; this underlines the broad and solid basis of demand in this city. Tenants definitely favour modern premises, something also reflected by the perceptibly growing interest in green buildings.
