Take-up higher than long-term average
At 82,000 m2, turnover in Essen so far is more than one third down on 2008, but it is nevertheless well up on the long-term average. However, half the total was contributed by just three large new leases, without which the result would have been far lower. The chief sources of demand in the first nine months were banks (more than 24 %), followed by the administrations of industrial companies, traditionally strong in Essen, with 20 % of all take-up.
