Research Center
Germany - Hamburg
Take-up lower
In the first three quarters of 2009, Hamburg achieved a turnover of 301,000 m2. Although that represents a year-on-year fall of just under 28 %, the volume is similar to that registered in 2006. The city centre was the most popular market zone, accounting for almost one quarter of total take-up. Demand was spread broadly across all the
size categories, for instance with lettings upwards of 5,000 m2 contributing 25 % to the result. In terms of the distribution of turnover by business sectors, the list was headed by other services (just under 20 %), ahead of public authorities (over 17 %) and the administrations of industrial companies (14.5 %).
