Leipzig city News Q3/2009

turnover at high level

in the first three quarters of the year, the leipzig office market registered take-up of 86,000 m2. This was more than 34 % up on the same period in 2008, making leipzig the only location to report a year-onyear rise. The exceptionally good result was fuelled chiefly by a large lease concluded by the municipal administration – for the Technical City Hall alone it has rented 42,000 m2 of space. But there were also many lettings once again in the size category of up to 500 m2. The large lease mentioned above made public administration by far the biggest source of demand, with 53 % of total turnover. it was followed by other services (16 %) and healthcare (7 %).
