Germany - Berlin
Q2 2011
Take-up still exceptionally good
Logistics and warehouse take-up in the Berlin market area (including environs) in the first half of 2011 totalled around 264,000 mē, thus exceeding the already very good prior-year figure (183,000 mē) by the significant margin of 44 % and producing the best half-year result ever registered. Demand for warehouse premises in Berlin, as elsewhere, continues to be buoyed by the very good overall economic environment. Logistics and wholesale/retail firms, in particular, are again renting large premises on a greater scale. The good take-up is also boosted by trends such as the boom in e-commerce.
