New take-up record
Take-up of logistics and warehouse space in the Frankfurt market area (including environs) in the first half of 2011 totalled 252,000 mē. This was double the figure achieved in the same period last year and represents the best result of the past ten years. In Q2, market activity was especially lively and the number of newly concluded leases was considerably higher than in the early months of the year. In addition, several large lettings, for instance of 51,000 mē in Raunheim to a forwarding company, also made a substantial contribution to the excellent turnover. Frankfurt is benefiting not only from the bright general economic climate but also in particular from the renewed growth in air freight in 2010 this already increased by 21 % nationwide and is continuing to expand.
