Germany - Hamburg
Q2 2011
Take-up still on record track
Logistics and warehouse take-up in the Hamburg market (including environs) in the first half of 2011 totalled 375,000 mē. this was a new half-year record and exceeded the already very good result of the prior-year period by 45 %, while equalling the figure registered for the whole of 2009. the marked upturn in demand, which started back in mid-2009, not only continued at an impressive pace but actually gathered momentum. so it is not surprising that Hamburg retains its lead in the table of germany's top locations. the city is profiting not only from the buoyancy of the german economy as a whole but particularly from the sustained growth of imports and exports and the rising tide of trade and goods transport.
