Pace of investment in residential properties intensifies further
Investment in sizeable stocks of residential property in Germany in the first three quarters of 2011 totalled about 4.16 bn . This was 43 % higher than in the same period last year. So, as was expected, the pace of investment activity has speeded up even more. The analysis takes 172 transactions into account, involving a total of just under 68,000 residential units. The average outlay per deal was around 24 million , the same as at the mid-year point. This indicates that there is a lot going on especially in the small and mid-range segment of the market. Sales prices across all residential asset classes averaged slightly more than 930 /mē. In the first nine months, foreign investors accounted for almost 40 % of total turnover.
