Modest rise in turnover
Investment in sizeable residential assets in Germany in the first quarter of 2011 totalled around 858 million € – an increase of nearly 6 % compared with the prior-year period. The trend towards lively demand especially in the small-unit and medium-sized segment that was already apparent in the second half of 2010 has continued. In the first three months of this year the number of registered deals rose by 65 % to 51. The average purchase price per transaction fell accordingly, from 26 million € (Q1 2010) to 17 million €. Sales of up to 25 million € accounted for slightly more than 42 % of aggregate turnover and 78 % of all deals, whereas deals of 50 million € generated just under 25 % of the transaction volume.
