CA Immo invests in Munich
Bayern: CA Immo has acquired OFB Projektentwicklung's 50-percent share in the SKYGARDEN office building in Munich’s Arnulfpark, making it the sole proprietor. The acquired property value amounts to about 63 million euros.
"By acquiring the OFB shares, we are consolidating our investment in Munich's property market, which will remain of central importance for us, and are expanding CA Immo's portfolio with another prestigious property", says Dr Bruno Ettenauer, Chairman of the Executive Board of CA Immobilien Anlagen AG, in relation to the acquisition.
In total, the office building, which was completed in August 2011, has around 34,000 m² (183,000 ft²) of gross floor space (GFS). It was realised in a joint venture with OFB Projektentwicklung GmbH. The largest tenant is consulting and auditing company PricewaterhouseCoopers, which set up its new 17,500 m² (188,368 ft²) Munich headquarters immediately after completion.
The SKYGARDEN office building was conceived and realised as a green building, and designed by architects Bothe Richter Teherani (BRT). The most prominent feature of the building, which is situated directly on the Hackerbrücke (Hacker Bridge), are the large winter gardens that encompass several floors. These not only improve the climatic conditions, but also optimise the building's energy concept. LEED Gold certification is currently being prepared.
In addition, CA Immo is presently creating the AMBIGON office, retail and medical centre in Schlossviertel Nymphenburg. The retail stores and the medical centre located there opened for business in October of this year. Further significant project developments in Munich currently include the new Baumkirchen Mitte quarter, the area surrounding the former Freimann railway workshop as well as the Eggartensiedlung.
