Ektron Expands Global Presence with Offices in the U.K.

Great Britain: Ektron Inc., a technology and market leader in web content management software today announced its expansion abroad with new offices in Maidenhead, Berkshire in the United Kingdom. Ektron has appointed Mike Watson managing director of its European operation.

Ektron’s new U.K. division includes business development, partner support, technical consulting, application development, product support divisions and an in-house training center. The training center will provide certified web developer and end user editor and administrator training. In addition to offering its European customers a full range of leading edge products and first-rate support, a key focus of Ektron’s expansion is to continue to strengthen its partner program in Europe.

Several U.K.-based clients in the publishing, government, travel, real estate and legal industries have engaged Ektron’s technology for leading-edge web content management functionality. The U.K. Central Office of Information’s popular TalktoFrank.com (a drug advisory site) and The Respect Agenda www.respect.gov.uk, a government initiative to combat anti-social behavior, are powered by CMS400.NET. Additionally, websites of the London Symphony Orchestra, Ocean Village Cruises, Scottish and Southern Energy, Teletext Holidays, Ashurst, the Northeast Chamber of Commerce and publishing leader MacMillan Publishing have been developed with Ektron’s award-winning technology.

“A key factor behind the growth of Ektron in the U.S. and the U.K. has been our commitment to the ongoing development of our core product CMS400.NET,” said Mike Watson, managing director of Ektron Europe. “The latest version 7.0 demonstrates that not only do we anticipate the evolving needs of our global customers, but we consistently develop sophisticated functionality to make Ektron based websites the most powerful, large scale and dynamic websites in the world,” added Watson.

Ektron’s CMS400.NET V7.0 enables customers to create highly interactive sites that foster a strong online community and include features such as advanced navigation and built-in taxonomy to get information into the hands of site visitors as quickly as possible. CMS400.NET V7.0 is the first content management system to introduce geo-encoded mapping and wiki collaboration features which provide navigational taxonomy structure to articles and inter-wiki links.

“The main thrust of our global strategy is to replicate our client successes in the U.S. by exceeding the expectations of our customers in Europe,” said Ed Rogers, COO, Ektron. “At the same rate, Ektron will aim to accommodate the specific needs and interests of the European marketplace and we will continue to enhance our European partner relationships. Our partners provide essential offerings that complement CMS400.NET by maximizing joint customer website and intranet deployments.”
