Jernhusen has purchased Centralhuset in Gothenburg

Sweden: Swedish Government owned property company Jernhusen, represented by international real estate advisor Savills, has purchased Centralhuset in Gothenburg, Sweden from German fund Internationales Immobilien-Institute GmbH for approximately €40 million.

The property, which comprises 10,600 sq m (114,100 sq ft) of office and retail space, is located adjacent to the Central Station in Gothenburg. Jernhusen already owns the station and will coordinate the management and development of the two properties, which have mutual pedestrian and retail areas.

Ulf Nilsson, head of corporate finance at Savills Sweden, comments: “This is a strategic acquisition by Jernhusen, which owns and develops railway stations all over Sweden. It will place the company in a strong position to influence the overall development of the surrounding area of Central Station in Gothenburg in line with the arrival of the new railway line, Västlänken.”
