Michael Bücker to become Chairman of the Board at Commerz Real

The restructuring of the Commerzbank Group will also lead to the strategic reorientation of Commerz Real. The Supervisory Board and Hubert Spechten-hauser believe that the repositioning should go hand-in-hand with a change in leadership at the top-management level.

Over the past few years he has left an indelible mark on Commerzbank’s asset management and real estate and leasing business, which he has managed to highly successful effect. I wish him all the very best and continued success for the future”, said Jochen Klösges, who has responsibility on the Commerzbank Board of Managing Directors for the Asset Based Finance segment, which also includes Commerz Real.

“At the same time, I am delighted that in Michael Bücker we have a manager moving into the top position at Commerz Real who has learned the business at the coalface. As a sales expert with long-standing experience in dealing with corporate customers, he also has the requisite expertise for bringing Commerz Real into even closer contact with mid-sized companies. I wish him all the best and every success as he takes up his new position”, said Klös-ges.

Hubert Spechtenhauser has been Chairman of the Board at CommerzLeasing und Immobilien since 2002, and when the latter merged with Commerz Grundbesitz in 2007, he became Chairman of the Board of the resultant Commerz Real. A qualified lawyer, he joined the Commerzbank Group in 1989 and previously held positions such as Head of Strategy.

The holder of a business management degree, Michael Bücker has been in charge of Commerzbank’s Munich-based corporate business as Regional Branch Head since 2005. As Head of the Financial Engineering Center South, he was previously responsible for structured financing for small and mid-sized companies. After a stint with Deutsche Immobilien Leasing, he joined Commerzbank’s corporate customer segment in 1995. Michael Bücker embarked on his career in 1989, working as a leasing acquisition specialist with Commerz- und Industrie-Leasing, which now belongs to Commerz Real.

Eberhard Graf, 60, will step down from the Board of Commerz Real effective 31 December 2009 and enter into retirement.

“Over the course of his long and successful working life, Eberhard Graf has made a decisive contribution to making the company what it is today. I would like to express my thanks and appreciation to him for that and wish all the best for the future”, said Jochen Klösges. Eberhard Graf’s successor will be chosen in due course.

Eberhard Graf has been a Member of the Board of Commerz Real and of its predecessor CommerzLeasing und Immobilien since 2000. The holder of a degree in business studies, he worked for predecessors of Commerz Real from 1978, and having held various positions in sales, he became Managing Director of CommerzLeasing und Immobilien in 1992.
