VIB Vermögen AG acquires Kreissparkasse Biberach as new major shareholder
Bayern: * Swabian bank acquires 9.5% interest in VIB * VIB Vermögen AG’s free float totals 76.0% * Healthy mix in shareholder structure – broad free float and long-term investors
VIB Vermögen AG, a company specializing in managing commercial real estate, has been able to acquire an additional major shareholder – Kreissparkasse Biberach. The Swabian bank, which has total assets of around € 6.3 billion, recently bought an interest of 9.5% of voting rights. After Raiffeisen-Volksbank Neuburg/Danube (9.7%), Kreissparkasse Biberach is thus already the second long-term investor of VIB Vermögen AG from the field of regional banks. In addition, the management (2.0%) and the Supervisory Board (2.8%) hold significant interests in the company. The remaining 76.0% of shares are in free float. This figure continues to be above average in a peer group comparison.
Ludwig Schlosser, VIB Vermögen AG’s CEO, is very pleased about the new major shareholder: “We regard Kreissparkasse Biberach’s equity interest as further proof that our operating successes are increasingly being recognized by the capital market. Our solid, judicious financing structure meant that we have been able to steer our way through the financial crisis practically unscathed.” His colleague in the Managing Board, Peter Schropp, who is responsible for real estate, emphasizes the company’s healthy shareholder structure: “We have an excellent mix of a high free float and long-term investors. As a result we combine stable ownership with high liquidity for our shares.”
